New Music
This list is for music that is new to me. This list begins in 2024. Newest first.

Wardruna
Fuck me this is so good. I’d love to see them live.
-
Ann Annie
This is so beautiful and gentle. Music for the soul.
-
Doves
I’m not sure why I added this to my MusicBox app. But it’s soooo nice.
It’s got a real vibe, and I’m really looking forward to listening again and diving into more of their records, maybe.
-
Muse
Wow! This is one of those albums I always meant to buy. But back in those days, music was an investment that I couldn’t often afford. So aside from hearing various tracks on the radio I have basically let this album slide. Until now.
#NowPlaying - It’s kicking my ass and I’m loving it!
-
Elbow
This is me cheating a little. I’m not new to the songs on this album. But I am new to this compilation.
It was released in 2017 and encompasses a special decade of music by this wonderful band. I’m in heaven listening to this right now.
Unfortunately, for whatever reason I haven’t kept up with their recent releases and I need to correct that…

The Gloaming
Opening Set came on Thistle Radio today and it blew my mind. I had to check the album and it’s so good. #SomaFM
-
Pulp
I’m really excited for this the return of Pulp with their new album coming soon. This song is pretty much perfect.
-
A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Adam Wiltzie
Steep Hills of Vicodin Tears was recommended to me last year and it’s featured in my listening since. But I didn’t check out the album until I realised I was listening to another of Winged Victory’s albums https://albumwhale.com/aeryn/new-music#album_31187 .
It’s very beautiful and I’m diving into all their work with much enthusiasm for the heart-easing chill vibes.

A Winged Victory For The Sullen
Just wow. Intensely beautiful. Our Lord Debussy is magical. I first heard it here https://music.apple.com/gb/station/the-emergency-break-episode/ra.1794735665

Wardruna
A+++++++++
One of my favourite artists contributes field recordings (singing ice) and kulning on this album. I love this band so much.
I’m English but I swear to god I have some connection with the Nordic lands. This music seems to speak to my soul directly.
-
Joachim Heinrich
I’ve been listening to this artist on shuffle for hours today. And he has no albums listed on Apple Music. But a lot of singles and EPs.
Just really beautiful music. Slightly eclectic. I was reminded sometimes of Hans Zimmer, sometimes Einaudi. There are field recordings in the mix too. Wonderful!
-
The Cure
Music to cry to. I’m so blown away by this album after one listen.
-
Aja
The older I get, the more and more I enjoy ambient music. This is so chill and relaxing. Music for creating, reading, or napping.
-
Jon Hopkins
This album is so beautiful. It's earthy and transcendent; chill and rhythmic; tribal and ecstatic. All at the same time. I think this is already my favourite Jon Hopkins album. Just amazing and blissful!!!
-
The Smile
I think this is less accessible than their first album but it’s growing on me.
-
First Aid Kit
One of these songs (I think it was Emmylou) was put in my Up Next in my Apple Music app and I instantly fell in love.
This kind of music is usually way outside my listening sphere but I think I’ve been Favouriting enough songs from various YouTube lifestyle videos, that the algorithm did me a solid with this band.
This album and Stay Gold have been lifting my spirits in the last few weeks.
-
The Smile
I didn't even know this band existed until a couple of weeks ago!! I love Radiohead and this definitely scratches an itch :)
