Where Kid A felt icy and abstract its counterpart, Amnesiac, sounds haunted and unstable. “Pyramid Song” moves like a dream you can’t fully interpret, “I Might Be Wrong” locks into one of the band’s great grooves, and “Life in a Glasshouse” ends things in drunken jazz-funeral fashion. The "leftovers" from Kid A where just as amazing as Kid A. It’s one of Radiohead’s strangest records, but also one of their most atmospheric.

It's grown on me.

It's really wild to me how prolific Radiohead was from the Ok Computer era through the Amnesiac era. Proof is in the musical pudding though and those albums and songs are near perfect.

1001Albums
Releasing an album of lost tracks and offcuts just seven months after the previous hit Kid-A was a risky move. However this album of experimental electronica and down tempo lo-fi beats just about pulls it off. I’m still not the greatest fan of Thom Yorke’s voice, but it works better here than on some of their rockier tracks. The highlight is Life in a Glasshouse featuring the trumpet of the late, great Humphrey Littleton. I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue-tastic!
