most ambitious album
fond memories of exploring this album's ARG (and a pirate scan of rise of the ogre) with my boyfriend

All the albums I've listened to in 2025:
(05/11/2025) I grew up listening to several of the popular singles from this album (On Melancholy Hill & Stylo specifically), but I never gave it a full listen until this year, and man I was missing OUT! Such a fun record - great features, awesome production that is both incredibly versatile and wholly cohesive, great flow between the tracks, it's just an amazing record. I get why it's so beloved now!

Top 100+1
Up on Melancholy Hill, there's a plastic tree
Are you here with me?
Just looking out on the day of another dream
Where you can't get what you want, but you can get me

My top 50 Albums of all time.
"Welcome to the world of the Plastic Beach" Snoop Dogg said it best. This album is a world of oddities and uncanniness told through immaculately crafted songs. If this Plastic Beach did exist I'd love to spend a day there, and see all the sights. Such as: the empire ant colony, the rhinestone factories, the superfast jellyfish, King Neptune's water breathers and the glitter freeze. A story that has to be experienced at least once and will most definitely get you hooked for another listen, if not for how good it is, then for how confusing it is.

Current Vinyl Collection
Make landfall on the most luxurious landfill in the middle of the ocean where everything is made from synthetic materials. Even the instruments composing the album sound like plastic (with the exception of sweeping orchestral strings). It's beautiful, yet clearly corrupted past a returning point. Is this the future we're hurdling towards?
