  A collaboration that often feels like a lost Guided by Voices album. Doug Gillard's guitar work provides a muscular foundation for Pollard's melodic instincts, resulting in one of his most consistent records of the era. The songs move quickly but leave lasting impressions, packed with memorable choruses and inventive arrangements. There's very little filler, which is no small achievement in Pollard's universe. A hidden gem that deserves a larger audience.
