  Secret Name finds Low stretching their slowcore minimalism into something richer and more luminous. With producer Steve Albini adding depth and clarity, the band surrounds their hushed vocals and glacial tempos with subtle organ, strings, and aching harmonies. The songs feel suspended in time—quiet, devotional, and emotionally heavy without ever raising their voice. The earlier records are wonderful, but Secret Name was the first glimpse of all subtle varieties yet to come.
