cheynot surprised in the slightest that this album made it to this list. kahan is able to change and shape a narrative in such an achy way. i always appreciate the grit that he puts in his harsher songs. pieces of this album remind me so much of how my biological family exists in whatever midwestern version of a hollow exists in swmo. standout tracks include 23, paid time off, staying still, we go way back
