  an album that represents and best and the worst part of noel gallagher’s writing. the sound of this album, like the rest of his discography, does not appeal to me specifically, i think he really leans into that sort of 2010’s boom clap writing too much. if he had another sound, i think it’d really boost his discography, but i can’t complain about his sense of style in music
  the music on this album is painfully boring at worst, but most of the songs reach a sort of “okay” spot when ignoring the specific sound of each one. fort knox to be careful what you wish for are relatively pleasant experiences, but don’t really ooze the passion that i associate with noel gallagher’s best works.
  the songs do get more tender and meaningful during the end of the album, peaking at “the man who built the moon,” a transcendent cinematic experience that has given me a much better impression of this album than it deserves, it really carries
  overall just a sort of boring experience, and not noel’s best work, though some of the songs like black & white sunshine are catchy enough to get stuck in my head often and i can’t say i dislike that experience :)
