one of the most beautiful albums i’ve ever listened to based off of the background alone. what a soulful, mature, emotional reflection on love and nostalgia and loss and yearning to rekindle a relationship.
i can’t properly put into words how i feel about this album, but know it touched me in a way that not many other albums have. but this is the only album i can think of that i resonated more with noel’s perspective rather than my own, and become thoroughly invested in his relationship with his brother, the subject of most of the songs on this album
while the song remains the same” is one of the most striking songs i’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. everything about this song is completely perfect. the lyrics, the instrumental, GOD the instrumental, everything about this song paints one of the best examples of musical imagery i’ve ever heard; almost as if you’re remembering everything from the past, all the good days you’d spent with another person, the song being so fond, cinematic, melancholy, sad, so many others words i can’t name. and of course, lamenting on the split itself, ”we let love get lost in anger chasing yesterday,” of course with a nod to the beatles, who noel and his brother love, with the ending fading away with a tambourine, liam’s signature instrument. a phenomenal 10/10 experience of a song.
there are some weaker tracks on the album, but overall, a great experience
