  This band has been around for ages--or, as some might refer it, “the early 90s”--but this is my first time encountering them.

  Seems like their early stuff was more straightforward symphonic black metal, but this album (and their more recent recording preceding it) lean in a much more experimental/progressive direction. As I’ve said before, progressive metal tends not to be my bag (YMMV) but when it’s good, it’s good, and this album is very, very good.
