  Dead Tears is a four-piece outfit from Baghdad. This is their second full-length outing, following up on 2019’s Wretched Earth.

  I liked that album quite a bit. Letters From Eternity takes what made that album great--epic melodic death metal that isn’t afraid to get political--and ratchets it all up. This album is great; it’s on the shortlist for my favorite releases of the year.

  There’s not a bad track here, but the highlight for here is the two-part “Eternal” that sits at the center of the record. Do yourself a favor and give this one a listen.
