  Expeditio is album number two from this cosmic doom band from Warsaw. I say “band” but it seems like Stellar Silence might be a one-man operation, or maybe one guy plus some session players.

  I will admit it took me a bit to warm up to this album. For the first few tracks, I was unconvinced, but it gradually drew me in as it kept going. Expeditio generally keeps the pace slow, which is fine. There are some good atmospherics, and some extended stretches of heavy riffing that had me nodding along. My only complaint would be the vocals. They’re not bad but they feel uninspired (not the lyrics--just his singing style).

  It is hard to imagine that I will return to this album once the first play-through is done, but it’s fine for what it is. The closing track (“Nocene niebo”) is probably my favorite of the bunch.
