Top 10 Albums

  1. Tycho

Nothing quite like a night drive while listening to Dive by Tycho. I can’t imagine a better soundtrack to my college years, or a better album to randomly start playing in a cafe.

  2. Hellogoodbye

An album that truly kept me guessing on my first listen. From the jammiest funk to the tenderest ballads, this album has something special woven through each track.

  3. Friendly Fires

The last live concert I saw before Covid did not disappoint. Friendly Fires has been in my rotation since 2008 and they just keep getting better and better, culminating in their most recent offering. Perpetually outdoing themselves.

  4. Tyler, The Creator

I’m hard pressed to name more than a handful of rap or hip hop artists that I like… but Igor by Tyler, The Creator keeps me coming back again and again. Undisputed for me… for now.

  5. I often relish when an artist or group transcends something that once made them who they are. This arguably secular album from Relient K is an example of an album that I feel is strong from start to finish.

  6. Explosions In The Sky

Something gentle and fierce all at once… like a quiet drive through a snow storm. A touching stripped down offering from the “New Old Boys from Texas”.

  7. A nostalgia bomb from my angsty, all-for-naught-romance era high school days. I definitely fell in love with more intense lyrical song writing thanks to this album.

  8. Ulrich Schnauss

Discovered via a memorable car ride on a beautiful late-spring day in Japan, this album laid a foundation that would shape my musical landscape for years to come.
