Building Blocks

Albums that meant things.

  1. Grateful Dead

Thanks to a college professor who was into the dead, I learned about the band, Robert Hunter, eventually dissolving into tears as I realized that as a bass player Phil Lesh is on another planet.

  2. Living Colour

Probably my first actual "rock" album after growing up in a home where Neil Diamond was considered "heavy". Still in rotation, because it was and is a window into what it means to be Black in America, something I was a Man Of Privilege will never understand completely, but I know I need to be aware.

  3. Eve 6

Inside Out was what got me here, and then I stayed for this in its entirety. If it was vinyl, I'd have worn it the hell out.

  4. One of those albums that struck a chord and never quit.
