Sonically Underrated

  1. Karnivool

Beautifully intricate polyrhythms all throughout the album. The use of irregular time signatures just keeps you in suspense. At the same time, I'd describe the sound as 'easy-listening' for progressive rock.

  2. Very good use of funky bass sounds. Rare to hear pop music nowadays incorporate intricate bass melodies, in my opinion.

  3. Björk

This album is almost entirely a cappella, with Björk demonstrating her crafting abilities as a singer and composer. 'Oceania' is my favourite track on this album.

  4. Nine Inch Nails

A polished sound from NIN. My favourite tracks are 'Copy of A' and 'Satellite'.

  5. The Fixx

Discovered this album on Album Whale. Didn't know what to expect at all. Uneasy, in a good way. Avant-garde sound for its time.
