Seven Songs for the Week #134 - 29th Oct 25

  1. LOUD. MAKE IT LOUD. Possibly the greatest live album.

  2. Frank Ocean

I had read that the UK rapper Dave had Lennon/McCartney credited for one of the new songs on his new album. You can't tell, tbh. But this song also has LenMac in the songwriting credits. See can you spot the lift.

  3. Kurt Cobain

  4. John Lennon, Yoko Ono, The Plastic Ono Band, Elephant's Memory

Listening to chunks of this boxset (on streaming). There's lots to enjoy. "Sent to a prison called schoooool" went down well at ours.

  5. Over the past year, the youngest child really got into Jim Croce having been exposed to Time In A Bottle in an X-Men film. That's the joy of streaming, I guess. This track turned up in the new HBO show The Chair Company, which I thoroughly recommend.

  6. The Monkees

The Monkees fourth album finally has the 4CD deluxe treatment. This track is a Peter Tork highlight and apparently there's a hidden expletive in the mix.

  7. Bruce Springsteen

The youngest child has also started learning the guitar in the past few weeks, and has decided to focus on getting this track down. Also, the boxset came out too.
