Seven Songs for the week #154 - 18th Mar 26

  1. Talking Heads

Saw David Byrne last week on the Who Is The Sky? tour. A magnificent show. Spoiler alert: He opens with Heaven, and it was like hearing the song for the first time.

  2. Painkiller The Pigeon

I was listening to the CBB-FM podcast this week and the guest was Devon Bryant, who is the one man band, Painkiller the Pigeon. He described his album as being in the style of a 1980s record inspired by the 1960s. Think XTC. This is a good track.

  3. The Monkees

Mistadobalina, mistabobdobalina. How come the Monkess don't have a writing credit for that sample?

  4. Charli xcx

I was listening to Todd Rundgren's Todd and found out that Charli XCX sampled the track "An elpee's worth of tunes" for this. There's Tood, warbling in the background.

  5. Listened to this album this week. It's not good enough, really, not for SD, maybe as a solo record. This is the best of it.

  6. They Might Be Giants

    New TMBG track. Hooooooray!

  7. I heard this on The Current this week. It starts with Donovan being all preposterous, bless, then it turns into a nice vibey jam.
