Seven Songs for the week #154 - 18th Mar 26

Talking Heads
Saw David Byrne last week on the Who Is The Sky? tour. A magnificent show. Spoiler alert: He opens with Heaven, and it was like hearing the song for the first time.
-
Painkiller The Pigeon
I was listening to the CBB-FM podcast this week and the guest was Devon Bryant, who is the one man band, Painkiller the Pigeon. He described his album as being in the style of a 1980s record inspired by the 1960s. Think XTC. This is a good track.

The Monkees
Mistadobalina, mistabobdobalina. How come the Monkess don't have a writing credit for that sample?
-
Charli xcx
I was listening to Todd Rundgren's Todd and found out that Charli XCX sampled the track "An elpee's worth of tunes" for this. There's Tood, warbling in the background.
-
Steely Dan
Listened to this album this week. It's not good enough, really, not for SD, maybe as a solo record. This is the best of it.
-
They Might Be Giants
New TMBG track. Hooooooray!
-
I heard this on The Current this week. It starts with Donovan being all preposterous, bless, then it turns into a nice vibey jam.
