Seven Songs for the Week #167 - 17th June 26

Telehealth
Noticed on Mastodon, I was always going to listen a band called Telehealth.
-
Ween
The youngest asked me if I'd heard of Ween, I said yes, then I was asked if I knew Ocean Man, and I did not. If the streaming algorithm is suggesting Ween to the teen, that's not so bad, I guess.
-
Boards of Canada
Last minute swap for a duplicate. It's great though.

Simon & Garfunkel
I think I got this record in 1986 and it introduced me to a bunch of solo Paul Simon songs. In the aftermath of Graceland, Paul's CBS albums seemed to drift out of print, as I recall, before eventually reappearing on Warners. Greatest Hits Etc was about. Anyways, I like the S&G versions of the solo songs. You could see a parallel collection of 1970s S&G.

Saw Sparks live last year, very good, very loud and they are still touring, back in the UK this week and supporting Gorillaz this weekend in London. The current live set up is getting a new album, and aside from the "solo" Ron & Russell Two Hands One Mouth album, there has never been a proper Sparks live band album before. The track listing is very heavy on latest album Mad! but that's ok because its a good album.

Joe Jackson
Read a piece in Mojo about Joe Jackson, I was reminded of this album which is now 20+ old. This song used to always pop up on my old iPod.
-
Blur
Spun this album this week - it might be my favourite blur record.
