Seven Songs for the Week #172 - 22nd July 26

Horslips
I was at the All Ireland Hurling Finals this week in a gloriously sunny Croke Park. The winners were Limerick and in the past times the PA would have played Limerick You're A Lady in this event ( https://youtu.be/PnPcDWA6Jq8 ) but now it's The Cranberries. This track got played as a general get-the-crowd-going number.

Jimmy Cliff
Picked up this soundtrack of CD for €1 - its really is all-killer, no-filler. I first heard this song when Madness covered it back in 1992: https://youtu.be/331mSu7mmec

ABBA
Another €1 CD this week was the soundtrack to When We Were Kings documentary which has a great song by Fugees which samples Name Of The Game. The song is not on streaming and generally seems to have disappeared, which is a pity as it was a top ten hit. I'd have included it here, but here's the sample source instead.

Djo
Djo is the actor Joe Keery from Stranger Things, his Childish Gambino-esque ID that keeps things separate. This song popped up this week and it's nice to hear the youngsters (oh, he's 34) doing Beatley pop.

The Kinks
Djo goes well with...
-
Bob Dylan
Played this album driving around this week.

Pulp
I'll be seeing Pulp at a festival next week so relistened to the More album which I still like. A Sunset played while I was driving along the Atlantic coast looking at a sunset.
