Seven Songs for the Week #179 - 9th Sept 26
-
Listened to all of The Last Waltz this week. In stages. I fell asleep at one point, which may not be the album’s fault, but you never know. I’ve always liked the pretty opening theme.

Pulp
Let’s segue into something live but not from The Last Waltz. I was dipping in and out of this new live album and having seen this tour twice, it’s a pretty good representation of the show. And it sounds live, Jarvis straining his voice.
-
The Monkees
IT WAS 60 YEARS AGO TODAY! Etc....
-
Thesaurus Rex
Saw this recommended on Mastodon and enjoyed it, so here it is.

Nick Lowe
SpinDizzy records were selling a recent green vinyl reissue for under €20 and it turns out that I don’t actually own this record. A huge number of tracks I know from the Basher compilation, but it’s nice to have the whole thing. This album is an ideal of some form of power pop.
-
Simon & Garfunkel
Been going back to the S&G records. Five albums, very little duff stuff. Yes this song is a bit... teenage, but it’s still tops.

Found my copy of this CD, listened to it, it’s a really good album. And this song is prescient.
