The Temptations
Does there need to be a reason to listen to Get Ready by The Temptations? Not really. Although I was surprised that this was in Atmos on Apple Music. I don't have much Atmos compatible gear - my laptop does good Atmos and the other half has AirPod Pros. I'm not sure what magic was used to Atmos this song, but it sure does pop. You can hear the drums being played. I would very much like to hear what the Norman Whitfield stuff (eg Papa Was A Rolling Stone) sounds like in Atmos.

John Stewart
I was reading this piece on UCR : https://ultimateclassicrock.com/presidential-campaign-songs/ about US president campaign songs over the years. Get Ready pops up a good bit. Omaha Rainbow was Robert Kennedy's campaign song in 1968. A lovely song, but not sure it makes you want to pump the air. I'm sure John Stewart made a healthy living from having written Daydream Believer for The Monkees, and you could imagine Micky or Michael or Peter having a pass at this track.

Duke Pearson
Saw someone recommend this on Mastodon. My jazz knowledge is poor, but thought it was great. NB: It sounds nothing like the RH Chili Peppers.

R.E.M.
I went to see the movie Twisters this week. Very enjoyable. In recent years I think Hollywood has not served people well in a genre I call "Movies that are easy to understand". The US country soundtrack is doing well in the US at the minute, but I was surprised that Richard Thompson's Wall of Death makes a brief appearance in the film, being sung by some folk around an acoustic guitar. I was torn between including the soundtrack version or the original, and instead plumped for the best cover of it instead.

Spoon
A 10 year anniversary edition of Spoon's They Want My Soul is coming out, and it's been a fast decade for me. Inside Out has become the most streamed Spoon song, it's been licensed and playlist a lot. The demo shows the song is there, even if the final result is a very different beast.

Charli xcx
#bratsummer Charli xcx has been around for ages - I saw her supporting Camila Cabello supporting Taylor Swift in 2018. But since the release of brat at the start of June, she's finally done what all pop stars (and artists) strive for which is slip into the zeitgeist.

Madonna
A Madonna song unknown to me until this week. A b-side to Cherish, it's got all those Pat Leonard/Madonna sounds of 1989 but with just enough wonkiness that you can see why it missed the album.
