Offering Closeness

Albums I've played during my wintertime visit that can bring us a little closer together.

  1. Gene Bertoncini, Jack Wilkins

Sublime guitar duo performs live. We listened to this as we ate waffles and you both shared how beautiful it sounded. I agree. Mom, you remarked how the first song sounded so familiar. Dad, you said how it sounded like they were right there playing in the other room. I tried to share why I thought it sounded so good from the tech side. I'm glad we had this moment together.

  2. Julian Lage

A folky guitar masterpiece. Might remind you of some folk songs we listened to together when I was small.

  3. Eblen Macari

Open-ended guitar spaces to hold you as the sun sets. A journey that leaves room for a lot to be felt and held.

  4. Stan Getz, João Gilberto

An absolute classic. Good when you need to feel a little warmer, a little softer, a bit more tender to yourself and others.

  5. Max de Wardener

Dreamy ambient piano music. Dad, I played this while you were napping and it brought you to a very peculiar waking state. Mom, you thought it was peaceful and intriguing. I love this album.

  6. A classic. It might help you share space when some calm, deeper breathing is needed. Music can affect how we show up to others and ourselves...
