You can't have a list like this without The Mars Volta - and this is fresh out and so good.

Got to choose one - and why not this? To be honest not as fully aquainted as I could be - and this one holds great tracks - but at the end of the day - I am rarely disappointed by their work.

I discovered Opeth through Wilson. They are typically labelled 'Metal' - some of their early stuff is definitely more Metal that I like - but they do break away. This one being a prime example. Just listen to that first track and tell me what is 'metal' about it.

Such a vast and excellent catalogue, but you gotta choose one. This was my real entrance into the land of Muse.
