New To Me (I'm Liking It)

Discovered these folks through some random instagram reel about bands who have a member that plays Magic The Gathering..... lol

Okay had to add this EP on here mostly because the song "Tarot Cards" and the way they pronounce it runs in my head all the time now. Also, the whole album is fun :) I love midwest emo.

This album felt novel to me. I was looking for songs about Persephone and other ancient myths and stumbled upon Kiki Rockwell and was pretty blown away by the mix of medieval style banquet gone kind of witchy but like, also, modern? Especially of "Burn Your Village". Grab a flagon of mead at Wyrd Meadery, gather around a cauldron and do some fucking magic.

Another cool album that suprised me! Their name unfortunately kept flying out of my mind but whenever I stumbled upon them again, Aaron West's voice always gave me pause in the best way. The song Roman Candles was my introduction to them and it makes me feel somehow hopeful and anguish at the same time. Also, what the fuck is a catalytic converter? LOL

I just love that people still make emo like this. I was brought in by their song * Equip Sunglasses * and stayed for Feal Like A Crab because duh. and then the rest of the album. I like the balance of whine and screams :)
