  1. I found a poor midi karaoke version of the title track and I tried to get my friend Carlos to sing it together in a karaoke, just for the fun of testing if we'd be kicked out.

I haven't gotten to see Jon Anderson live, but I did get to see all three songs in this album played by newer incarnations of the band.

  2. Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Matt Sweeney

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Matt Sweeney (who I knew from Zwan) come together is this gorgeous intimate album. "My home is the sea" brings redemption, "Blood Embrace" sucks you into darkness. I sang and played the bass lines on guitar of 'Blood Embrace' in front of my classmates with my friend Ian on guitar.

  3. Meat Loaf

Nothing like screaming to "Bat out of hell" or karaoking "Paraside by the Dashboard Light" with my wife. I was learning to play one of Meat's songs on guitar when he passed and it felt like I had lost a friend.

  4. Keith Jarrett

This nearly mythological album remains a mystery to me. I think I've read about Keith Jarrett himself saying that this album is overrated and I almost want to agree, but I don't.

  5. The Smashing Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins have been my favorite band for the longest time. Beatiful, raw, hard all in one. This is guitar heaven.

  6. Roger Waters

'Amused to Death' opened a whole world for me: war as entertainment, religion, the delicate art of balancing how much a message to push in a song or poem, Neil Postman, Brave New World, 1984... I even started an analytical project to decipher the meaning of the album and took my whole English class hostage for 2 entire lessons listening and commenting on this album.
