i heard someone describe don mclean as 'bob dylan if he could sing' - true my friend. a masterclass in lyrical songwriting - i will dance to 'and i love you so' at my wedding. the album itself is full of light quick guitar and mclean's solid, earnest voice

i say this one and not the junkyard 2 (despite j2's sweet hibiscus tea and lukewarm) because of the style of this album - glitzy is the perfect word for the dark, depressed pop synth

integral to my understanding of love and relationships in high school (which may not have been a good thing haha)
