Rob's Listening Log, Week of March 31st through April 6th

The latest albums I'm listening to!

  1. Don Bryant

Discovered this via Fat Possum records and their latest email newsletter. Good stuff!

  2. Widowspeak

I remember learning about this album and band in a physical copy of Vice magazine in 2013 after picking it up in Belmont Army in Chicago. I think that statement ages me appropriately if you know it all.

  3. Radiohead

I remember when this album came out vividly. I texted some friends, who also were texting me at exactly the same moment, while we all listened to the song "Ful Stop" separately. The moment that song hits never fails to get me going.

  4. Ty Segall

This is a really important album for me. I would walk up and down the lakeshore path in Chicago listening to it the summer of 2015 during times of unemployment. Those were hard times but good memories.

  5. Real Estate

Is there a better surf rock album? Hard to say. I remember discovering this album after walking into a record store in Lakeview, Chicago and Shazam'ing the song "Atlantic City". So good!

  6. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever

God, what a great debut from the Aussies here. This EP always takes me back to the summer I first heard it fully in 2017. Japan is a wild time...

  7. Atoms For Peace

Just rediscovered this gem from Thom Yorke, Flea, et al. Such a good listen! Gives Radiohead vibes and more.
