2026 Q2 Albums

I bought this album for "Jerk It Out"—I imagine that's the same reason anyone bought this album. The rest of it is middling to me in 2026. I probably liked it more back in the day.

I can't remember what motivated me to purchase THIS album but I've always enjoyed it. I think at the time of purchase I didn't know many Cake songs and looking at the track list, probably bought it for "Short Skirt, Long Jacket". But I appreciate it for the classic country covers (and "Mahna Mahna").

Classic Metric sound mixed in with some new angles. I like the synth layered throughout.

This is a fantastic playlist, forget about matching it to a movie. But the movie is pretty good, too.

Before reading the credited composers I would have never guessed Danny Elfman was involved. But listening further you can hear signature "Elfman" sounds. Pro tip: turn on "Train Time" when you get on the highway for your morning commute. Perfect tone setter.
