My favourite albums of all time!

  1. Foals

[Rock] My favourite album, period. This was the record that made me fall in love with Foals, and it provided the soundtrack to my life for pretty much my entire undergrad. Alternates between energetic headbangers and wistful soundscapes, with beautiful lyrics that captured my heart. 💖

  2. CAPSULE

[EDM] My Yasutaka Nakata gateway drug. I was going to list my favourite tracks, but then the list was half the album.

  3. Perfume

[Electro-pop] There isn't a Perfume album that I don't love, but Nakata's production is especially on-point here. Party Maker is irresistibly danceable, and Dream Land is hypnotic and...well...dreamy!

  4. Phoenix

[Rock] The Drakkar Noir -> Chloroform transition altered my brain chemistry.

  5. Foals

[Rock] My second-favourite Foals album and IMO their best work from an objective standpoint. They hit you with banger after banger and then end with Neptune as a perfect 10-minute prog rock masterpiece of a denouement. I couldn't have asked for better.

  6. [EDM] I love driving tracks that fill my ears with sound, and Adventure has that in spades. It solidified Madeon among my favourite producers.

  7. Perfume

[Electro-pop] This one really has all the CLASSIC Perfume bangers.

  8. Alina Baraz, Galimatias

[EDM] The lushest of beats for the chillest of evenings. 🌴🌊

  9. Nelly Furtado, Loose

[Pop] WE NEED TIMBALAND BACK IN THE STUDIO STAT

  10. Porter Robinson

[EDM] I just love electronic music with ✨feelings

  11. Rina Sawayama

[Pop] She opened with Dynasty and I was this rage comic girl. Then she hit us with XS and I knew SAWAYAMA was an all-timer.

  12. [Rock] You can pry 1901 from my cold, dead hands.

  13. MARINA

[Pop] And high school girls on Tumblr in 2012 (me) were never the same.

  14. Carly Rae Jepsen

[Pop] There's nothing I can say about E•MO•TION that hasn't already been said. CRJ is mother.

  15. [Electro-pop] I desperately need more people to listen to this artist.

  16. CAPSULE

[EDM] In the Rain alone is one of my favourite CAPSULE tracks, but then you throw in Transparent, Step on the Floor, Never Let Me Go, and Tapping Beats...YAS.

  17. Kelly Clarkson

[Pop-rock] Childhood fave that still goes hard.

  18. Megan Thee Stallion

[Rap] Meg's charisma is simply irresistible.

  19. Florence + The Machine

[Indie] Arguably the best album for thinking about your favourite characters doing dramatic shit.

  20. ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION

[Rock] Sol-fa has some of AKFG's best tracks. Rewrite is my favourite, and the original recording of Re:Re: just hits harder than the re-recording!

  21. Stromae

[Dance] Somehow this man made the catchiest songs imaginable about the saddest subject matter.

  22. [Pop] Bad Boy and I Just are such good tracks. Love to chill out with this one.

  23. PinocchioP

[Electro-pop] My favourite vocal synth album. I love the way Pinocchio tunes Miku and there's a lot of emotion behind these tracks.

  24. Beyoncé

[Pop] I love being a woman.

  25. [Electro] This album really is she. Like, it's her.

  26. Girls' Generation

[Pop] Stuffed to the gills with bubblegum-flavoured happiness. 🩷 These ladies were the soundtrack to my teenage years.

  27. Kendrick Lamar

[Rap] I love the way this album blends different styles of African-American music. It really is a work of art, and catchy as hell to boot.
