Discoveries 2025
New golden nuggets or throwback classics... This is what I listened to and enjoyed in 2025.
-
Greta Van Fleet
If Led Zeppeling would be alive today (yes I know, they are) they would be called Greta van Fleet.
-
dorpsstraat 3
Dutch music at its finest. A concept album about a town and it's inhabitants, covered by clouds of steel factories, audible in all tracks of this masterpiece.
-
The Who
The best rock opera ever might be Jesus Christ Superstar, but The Who's Tommy can be a good second.
-
Joost
The most legendary Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest ever. Pity he got cancelled for nothing. This song (translated "hot air balloon") is nothing less of magnificent. How about this for a comeback!
-
Pa Sheehy
An evergreen already. Pa keeps on giving.
-
Pa Sheehy
The former lead-singer of Walking on Cars, back with another beautiful album. Just recently, of all cities he could choose for his tour, he chose mine. What a gift!
-
Boyce Avenue
The raw diamond of cover artists with yet another jewel.
-
Jacob Collier, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal
It's not often that I totally lost myself in an artist. On the other hand, with Jacob Collier it's not hard to lose yourself in one of his multi-hour-long sessions explaining his hundreds of tracks for a song in Logic.
