Recommendations for Jennifer

Hoping you find a couple of new favorites here like I did from your list

  1. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Mixing classic metal sounds with all the weirdness of the Gizzverse, this eco-minded album is balls-to-the-wall brutality from start to finish.

  2. Cross Canadian Ragweed

Soundtrack of my childhood. Rough around the edges, but highly influential to the Oklahoma music scene.

  3. Orville Peck

We're finally starting to admit that country music is gay as hell, and the genre is better for it.

  4. Neutral Milk Hotel

For an album inspired by the Diary of Anne Frank, it sure talks about sex a lot.

  5. The Mountain Goats

Heavy topics, but the album doesn't let that overwhelm you. I'm surprised by how good it is every time I listen to it.

  6. Jake Blount

Afrofuturistic concept album about Black folk music after the climate disaster. Combines elements of bluegrass, gospel, blues, hip hop, and traditional African music.

  7. John K. Samson

    Very Canadian.

  8. They Might Be Giants

    Cover-to-cover earworms. Proceed with caution.

  9. Chuck Brodsky

Story songs. Some are snarky, some are sweet, some are about baseball. Vocals are just the right kind of nasally for me.
