Neil HopkinsIt’s no exaggeration to say that Bowie’s friendship with Iggy Pop saved both their lives. They moved from America to France to escape the drugs scene, working first on Iggy’s album the Idiot, and then Bowie threw himself into experiments with the soundscapes and cut up vocals that would become Low. He worked with the legendary Brian Eno and co-producer Tony Visconti doing more on this record than many people realise.
The final production and mixing for the album then moved to Hansa Studios in Berlin giving a much needed focus for this album and the next two that form the Berlin Trilogy.
