JamesMandolins, murmur turned technicolor, and a band quietly becoming enormous. It’s less cohesive than what followed (there are at least two pretty annoying songs here), but that restless experimentation is part of the charm. You can hear them stretching toward something much different than their unparalleled 80s run.
