  Experience this one while lying in a hammock as if it is your cocoon, letting the bugs crawl over you without a care as the sun peaks through and kisses you gently. It will change your life I promise. Pinegrove’s debut album was a resounding success as the song Need 2 blew up. But that is unfortunately where most people stopped. This whole album is a transcendent folk mirage; a collection of some beautiful memories translated to guitar and percussion. It reminds me of something that I’ve never been able to put my finger on and I don’t think I ever will, but hey maybe that’s ok.

  Salty P. Slug

  I really love what Pinegrove did in the mid-2010s. They really did combine the best traits of Midwest emo, early-Band of Horses-esque folk rock, and Appalachian DIY in a relatable and accessible way.

  Need 2 is definitely my favorite track; you've probably heard a clip of it on TikTok, if you're into that sort of thing. Their live stuff is great, although the track in this video isn't on this record, it's of the same era.
