JamesBright Future feels almost startlingly intimate, as though the songs are unfolding in real time rather than being carefully staged recordings. Lenker’s guitar playing and vocals remain incredibly delicate, but the emotional intensity underneath them is enormous. “Sadness as a Gift” and “Ruined” show her ability to make small images and conversational phrases feel spiritually expansive. The loose recording atmosphere gives the album warmth and vulnerability. Silence and imperfection become part of the emotional language of the music.

stumpnuggetShe is the best song writer alive and this album is absolutely fantastic. There's one song that I don't like, and I usually skip it, but minus that, these are beautiful songs!
