Grammy Album of the Year Award Winners and Nominees
1975 nominee I really enjoyed this. It sounded triumphant and carefree. This makes me really curious about his earlier albums that weren’t as well received. I never catch lyrics very well, but I think they were really compelling. It was interesting to hear this in contrast to some of George Harrison’s solo work. I think (from a cursory listen of both), that George’s instrumentation and production was more progressive and compelling, but the lyrics were where Paul shined. I’m surprised that John was never nominated for aoty, it would be fun to listen to his solo work as well now that I’ve listened to so much Beatles/George/Paul so recently.

“So the next time you see rain it ain't bad
Don't complain, it rains for you and me.”
McCartney's charm, character, and whimsy shine through on his best solo album, arguably the best Beatles solo album, and definitely as good as a Beatles album!
