JamesThe album strips away some of the dense conceptual layering of To Pimp a Butterfly and replaces it with sharper emotional contrasts. Kendrick Lamar moves rapidly between pride, paranoia, spirituality, lust, and survivor’s guilt, often within the same song. Tracks like “DNA.” and “FEAR.” hit hard because the production stays tense and uncluttered. It’s a record obsessed with contradiction, especially the contradictions inside the self.

Micheal MusumeciMy second full Kendrick album. This album was a true testament of Kendricks skillful story telling and lyricism. This is an album where I truly enjoyed most of the songs. Favorite songs are Pride and Duckworth.

Salty P. SlugMy most-played album of 2017 by far, and definitely my favorite era of Kendrick Lamar. I love all his shit, but this is the perfect meeting of his cutting lyricism and bombast.

My top (Almost 100) Albums of all time.
GwydianKendrick has earned his staple as the best rapper pushing the game right now. I won't pretend to relate to everything he explains on this album but on a basic primal level it resonates with me, LOVE, LUST, PRIDE and FEAR. The production had genuine passion on this record and it sparks drive in me whenever I listen to it. Therefore it's great when I need to get shit done and I put this through my headphones and take a few deep breaths as BLOOD plays and then shit starts buzzing and I get it done.

Hank SmithOne of, if not THE best rap albums of all time. It uses story telling in songs to the maximum whilst still adding a plot twist and each song being good individually.
