Long tracks evolve patiently, allowing moments of melody and atmosphere to emerge from the chaos. The album’s emotional tone centers less on rage than on despair and dislocation. Even at its heaviest, there’s a strong sense of vulnerability underneath the noise. It’s one of the most emotionally expansive metal records of the 2020s.
