my all timers
albums and soundtracks that have stuck with me over the years. sometimes picked up from a friend's recommendation, cds my parents used to play over and over, the pleasant surprise algorithm pull, a very particular phase i was going through, from perusing a movies/shows/games ost. trying to keep it just one album per artist, but who knows how long that will last me lol

garbage was definitely one of my parents favorite 90s bands, and they definitely became one of mine as well. also really helped that shirley manson's deep voice really got me through my budding queerness in middle school
-
Laura Mvula
my friend eve recommended her music to me, and god her vocals, the accompaniment, is so striking. absolute pleasure to sit with and take in this album

shoutout to the anon on tumblr who told me about fanny, leading me to find this beat club session! and shoutout to my girlfriend for getting the vinyl of this session for me <3

Wu-Tang Clan
i think i was 10 when i first heard "da mystery of chessboxing" and thinking, i've never heard anything like this. this rules and kick started my enjoyment for rap. 36 chambers really is a perfect album to me
-
Smash Mouth
first off: thanks shrek! second: album plays great for a goofy road trip, but most smash mouth does. this album has carried over from various mp3 players over the years, as it should be best experienced

Shonen Knife
when i was like eight years old and on early youtube i would look up their songs over and over and over. this album is so fucking hard to stream though, i NEEDED to get my hands on a cd copy in case this link ever breaks.
