Jaye’s Favorite Records of All Time

It has all the hallmarks of a great live record: interesting covers, new arrangements, wonderful atmosphere, solid procution, and a great performance.

Modern pop punk has never been more perfect than Dookie. The production is beyond reproach and every single song is a classic.

An entire album written as a followup about a character from a single song written 21 years earlier.

A messy, defiantly beautiful concept album from The Mountain Goats. In so far as “John Darnielle’s stepdad was a bastard” is a concept.

One of the greatest punk rock records ever recorded. Smarter and sweeter than it sounds.

A record that changed my life.

The record that Blake was always building to in Jawbreaker, but could never have released with that band.

It’s a perfect pop record. Pinkerton is great, too, but the first album has no flaws.

Jawbreaker’s best record. The refinement and perfection of the Emo/Punk venn diagram of the mid-to-late 90s.
