Exeter Excursion

  1. Harry Nilsson

My introduction to Harry Nilsson was from the outstanding soundtrack of Russian Doll. I’d heard others before, not really knowing who they were by, but Gotta Get Up was the first one to hook me. This LP was £10 and in VG+ condition all round.

  2. Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers

I’m a fairly recent convert to Jazz and I’m still very much in the learning phase. I got given an Art Blakey LP early on and liked it so, of course, I now have to get them all. I saw this album in Oxfam in Cheltenham a few weeks ago but it was just too expensive. So seeing it in Rooster Records in Exeter for half the price and in better condition made it an easy choice.

  3. John Entwistle, John Entwistle's Ox

I am drawn like a magnet to The Who section in any record shop I enter, usually with no surprises and nothing I don’t already have. But here we find John Entwistle’s Mad Dog and the only solo album of his I didn’t own. A nice find, and always good to add to my Who shelf.
