“A Trip To Bolgatanga” is a musical journey to founder member Bonjo’s current hometown in north Ghana. A psychedelic travelogue across the landscape featuring their trademark hand percussion and group chanting augmented with rumbling bass, mutated horns, dubbed out effects, wild wah-wah, haunted voodoo dancehall, synthetic swells, disco congas, tumbling layers of electronic effects, blues-inflected woodwind, and funky organ.

“Synthesized Sudan: Astro-Nubian Electronic Jaglara Dance Sounds from the Fashaga Underground” is a musical “UFO”. Unknown in the capital Khartoum, without a telephone, the Sudanese keyboard player Jantra searches for inspiration in the countryside. It’s electronic dance music, made with foreign keyboards turned into uniquely Sudanese instruments able to play polyrhythmic notes. Jantra plays a modified Yamaha to create his 150+ BPM music and hypnotic rhythms.

DJs Di Guetto is a compilation of Angolan Kuduro from Portugal, by DJ Marfox, DJ Nervoso, DJ N.K, DJ Foxufo, DJ Pausas and DJ Jesse. This 13-track album of Afro-Portuguese sounds direct from the Lisbon scene is taken from Volume 1, originally released in 2006 to capture the African dance music spirit from the outskirts of the city.
