KNOWER and Friends
Here's the secret to discovering new music: If you like an artist, see who else they collaborated with and start listening to those people. It works better than any algorithm, every time.
Anyway here's that with KNOWER.
-
KNOWER
KNOWER's sweet spot. Jazzy, crunchy, electronic, but not as Skrillex-like as the albums that followed.
-
Louis Cole
One half of KNOWER. LC's best album.
-
Thundercat
Thundercat and LC are of similar minds, with similar chops. You'll hear the latter on a couple tracks here.
-
Jacob Mann Big Band
Instrumental music that is somehow humorous without being gimmicky, and always fun to listen to.
-
Vulfpeck
This Vulfpeck album doesn't have Louis Cole on it. (That'd be Hill Climber.) But it's their most cohesive.
-
Henry Solomon, Logan Kane, Outside World
Henry Solomon and Logan Kane make weird atonal jazz without losing the groove—especially when LC drops in on drums.
-
Sam Wilkes
KNOWER's part-time bassist. You'd think Sam's solo stuff would be super funky, but it's entirely different in its own beautiful way.
