Laze's 100 Favorites

The original list: https://laze.net/garden/favorite-albums/

Of my 100 favorite albums, 9 aren't available on streaming. So this is a partial--but still pretty good--representation of my favorite albums. It's ordered by recording or release date.

Rule #1: no “best ofs” or compilations I’ve made myself. Exception: live recordings and compilations of old blues artists limited to a specific time period.

Rule #2: try to stick to one album per artist.

The 9 records that are not streaming:

  • Dennis Brown: "Westbound Train"
  • Thomas Steven Smith: "Fresh Start"
  • Courageous Chief: "Warpath"
  • DJ Q-Bert: "Demolition Pumpkin Squeeze Musik (A Preskool Breakmix)"
  • J Smooth: "Soul"
  • Robotobibok: "Jogging"
  • Dragons 1976: "On Cortez"
  • Michael Franti and Spearhead: "Live in Sydney (the original source for their live DVD)"
  • Chris Read: "The Diary (World’s Greatest Rap Megamix)"
  1. Miles Davis

  2. Bernie Green and His Orchestra

I hate this cover art. The original cover art was so much better: https://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1990/1877/1600/fut.jpg
