Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally layer organs, guitars, and drum-machine pulses into songs that seem to slowly open outward as they play. “Myth” and “Lazuli” feel dreamy without being weightless. Cooper AllenWhen I think of Beach House, I think of this album. It’s lush and pretty. It’s warm and dense. I’ve listened to this album so many times.
It also sounds equally amazing (if not better) if you listen to it at half speed...which is incredible. How many albums can you do that with?
