GwydianI don’t care that they had industry support in the same way that I don’t care that Pink Floyd were created with a foot in the door. If the music is fantastic then I couldn’t care less. This album is the younger brother to Getting Killed and is more juvenile in ever way. But every curse is also a blessing, the blessing being the upbeat explorative nature of 3D Country. Geese go places on this album that would feel almost unprofessional on Getting Killed, but work perfectly here. Be warned if you plan to listen to this album, the first song is less of a bomb in the car and more of a scream in the supermarket.

JamesThis album sounds like a young band discovering they can attempt almost anything and somehow pulling it off. 3D Country jumps between ragged country-rock, post-punk tension, glam swagger, and near-prog absurdity without feeling calculated. Cameron Winter’s vocals are especially memorable — theatrical, strained, funny, and emotionally committed all at once. Songs like “Cowboy Nudes” and “Gravity Blues” keep mutating structurally, yet the band’s looseness makes the shifts feel instinctive rather than technical. The album’s ambition is part of its excitement. It sounds messy in a way that feels alive instead of unfinished.
