My Top Albums

This is such a beautiful album. Really well written and really well produced and it doesn’t have any skips, any song could stand alone as a single and still be great its that well constructed. A lot of albums at times can have ‘album songs’ where its almost like filler music used to fill space in the album to make it a full LP length but this album doesn’T have any of those songs each song is really well written and is just incredible. Clairo has a beautiful voice and it really carries well in each track and each track has its own distinct and unique style that you never really get tired of this album. This is one of those ones that perfect for while you’re studying or to play in a coffee shop in the background, its just really pretty to have in the back of your mind. You can also enjoy actively listening to each track in the album too its that good. This album really inspired me to step out of my boundaries and explore more artists and more genres of music to really richen up my music and production abilities. Thank you Clairo for a pretty piece of work. The title of the album, Charm, is so fitting to this too as thats what this album is its very charming.

AN ablum many claim is Kanye West’s magnum opus. An excellent album that appeals to all audiences who are a fan of hip hop and rap music. For some it seemed increidbly experimental at the time but in reality Kanye was just way ahead of the time when he put this piece out because now in 2026 there are artists who are trying to replicate the sound and feeling this album had in their own music, goes to show how much of a genius Kanye truly is. I love this album, the way the songs make you feel, the hype of it and also the melancholy feeling it has too just makes it such a great listen, truly a top tier piece of work and is understandably why most people say that its Yeezy’s best work. Its got some notable tracks that are some of my all time favourites like All of the lights, Devil in a new Dress, POWER and runaway. Truly memorable album that still remains on rotation almost a whole decade after its release.

An Absolutely goated Mac Miller album, one of my favourite albums by him. It was a classic mix of hip hop and modern rap music packaged into one and it was just one of those ones that has really catchy music as well as music that really hooks onto you and you just can’t let go especially for the time period it was released. THis project came after Watching Movies with the Sound off and he stated in interviews that he just wanted to make an album that felt good and not with incredibly serious themes but just fun and enjoyable music with pretty production and catchy lyrics and he did exactly that with this project. Some of my most listened to songs of all time are off this album, songs like Brand Name, Rush Hour, ROS, Ascension and Perfect CIrcle/God Speed. Love the production and love this project dearly it has such a soft sport in my heart and it resonates so well with me like whenever I listen to it I get such a massive sense of nostalgia to when I was in University going through some turbulent times and this album being the thing I listened to the most during that time.

By far my favourite Brockhampton album. What a run Brockhampton had in the late 2010’S releasing 3 albums in the same year known as the Saturation trilogy and wow tthey were all so damn good and really fresh for the time. They were genuinely the world’s greatest boyband at the time and they really turned the world on its head by bringing a whole new meaning to the term boyband. They blew up so quickly but fell so hard when they did it was incredibly unfortunate that we didn’t get more work out of this amazing group of artists and producers. Despite most of the members working on their own solo projects and having good reach, I doubt they will be able to gain the same traction that they once had performing and writing together as a unit. This album’s production was one aspect that really stuck with me the fact that they could mix bpms and genres but still keep it rap was one thing I thought that was awesome and so new for the time. It was a breath of fresh air during a time where trap music was the most prominent for the rap scene at the time.

One of my absolute favourite artists ever Mac Miller. This was the first project of his that I listened to that instantly made me get hooked onto him and become a lifetime fan. This was one of the ones that was so new to me at the time despite traversing a lot of different hip hop and rap music at the time and it really stuck with me. The production is absolutely amazing and truly truly timeless. The features are also excellent and really add to the theme of this album. Despite it being a hip-hop record the way the production is polished and how the songs feel it almost doesn’t feel like a hip-hop record at times, it feels like its entirely own thing which is amazing. Mac Miller was truly ahead of his time, his passing was incredibly unfortunate and too soon. The fact that he was making music like this in his early 20’s what could’ve been had he had the time and opportunity to experiment in his 30’s.

Kendrick Lamar one of the greatest artists of all time. This was one of the first hip-hop records I listened to after growing up on a strictly rock and blues background, this album hit me like a truck. It left such a big mark on me it made me go back and llisten to Kendrick’s entire discography up to that point and it really helped me realise at the time being a kid that there was way way more to the music world than just rock music or pop music that was on the radio. This album to me has no skips and has such a cool concept and underlying story concept that makes it so timeless and so repeatable to listen to. Kendrick’s lyricism is unmatched, the production is gritty but beautiful and the features are amazing. The fact that this album still remains in the top charts around the world is a testiment to Kendrick’s greatness.

One of the greatest rock bands of all time. Led Zeppelin is one of the biggest reasons why I decided to learn guitar as a kid. Jimmy Page’s guitar playing mezmorized me as a child and made me want to learn how to play like him and write awesome guitar riffs that are memorable and replayable for years. Robert Plant’s vocals are captivating and his vocal tone is easily recognised and has a raspy-ness but beauty behind it thats so powerful. John Paul Jones the backbone of the band, playing excellent and grooving basslines that sit so perfectly well that it complemented the entire band incredibly well and John Bonham the absolute animal of a drummer. Unfortunately passed away early on but influenced almost all modern rock drummers with his eccentric style and way he sat in pockets was unbelieveable, truly a one of one player. Of all the Zep albums this one left the biggest mark on me as a kid as it was one of those ones I would sit in my room with headphones on, close my eyes and just listen to on repeat through my Dad’s record player. Amazing album.

KAYTRANADA is a producer that I am heavily influenced by, especially his drum production. He is one of the few producers out there that made me really sit down and work on my drum production, not only my drum mixes but also how my beats sounded and felt and how they were perceived by my listeners is all thanks to him. He showed that you could mix bpms and genres and have really banging tunes that can not only be used in DJ sets for DJ’S but also be listened to casually through headphones on the way to work or sitting on the train. He blends elements from hip-hop, RNB, house and disco so well that its become the ‘Kaytranada sound’ which is incredibly and a testiment to his creative genius. This album is one of the ones that has heavily influenced the music scene and went to show like electronic artists and djs could easily break into the mainstream if you are creative with your work and arent static to a single lane or genre.

This was the album that really made me a Kanye fan. This album was just so awesome the way that it was announced, the rollout of it and all the press just matched the energy perfectly. This was after Kanye received criticism on the internet so he buckled down and dropped this project and it really showed his maturity at the time and that he could dig deep and make a really creative and beatiful record that has bangers that stand the test of time. Every listen of this album feels so fresh and new and it goes to show how Kanye pioneered a lot of that modern hip hop sound we hear today off this record. Kanye proved that you could make hip-hop still feel fresh and modern without having to go into trap or drill to be popular.

Although considered more of an EP rather than an album, this project is one of my favourite rap collaborative projects of all time. This album actually made me a big fan of Denzel Curry when I’d only listened to a few singles of his up to that point. The music is just awesome like its really creative and it really outdid a lot of albums and projects that came out that same year. Kenny Beats is a master at production and making interesting and exciting beats and Denzel Curry matches that energy perfectly with creative rhyme schemes and bars that actually sit with you for years after first listen. A really fun and creative piece of work.

What an excellent body of work. The whole thing has no skips I could listen to the whole thing back to front on loop for days on end and never get tired of it. I listened to the album when it first came out and it has been on all my playlists for years. Its got every kind of mood you’d want and the musician ship and artistry is unmatched and even artists today still try to replicate the sound that Tame Impala created with this album. The songs are awesome, the production is gorgeous and it really sits with you after you’ve listened to the whole thing.

What a beautiful album. The thing that makes the album so beautiful is it feels like it was made entirely in a single session. When you listen to the entire thing back to back you feel like you’re there in the studio with Radiohead watching them play the whole album back to front live thats how well produced and well executed the album is. I first stumbled upon the album when I had just gotten out of a long relationship and it really articulated the beauty of musicianship to me, especially during a time when I was solely creating electronic music. It made me pick up the guitar and actually use it in my productions after not doing so for years.

Modal Soul is one of those albums that I think I will always go back and listen to for the rest of my life. The impact it has had on me has been immense. From the moment I first heard in high school to now it has always been there and always appeared in my top 5 spotify wrapped at the end of the year thats how much I come back to this masterpiece. I think this is Nujabes’ best work, the production, the features just everything about it feels so timeless and it truly can be listened to in any era of time and still be regarded as a great piece of work.
