The arrangements are packed with unusual instrumentation and harmonic detail, yet the album never sounds crowded or academic. Wilson’s greatest innovation may be emotional tone: the record captures uncertainty, longing, and fragile optimism with unusual honesty. It treats adolescence and adulthood as psychologically disorienting rather than sentimental experiences. Few albums this carefully constructed feel this emotionally exposed.

People always say this is one of the all time greats - and yes it has 2 BANGERS. But the rest is so same same.
They have undeniable amazing voices, and I love the way they harmonise. But there’s no variety, no experimentation in an age where everything was exploding.
It’s said they revolutionised pop, which is probably true and when it came out it might have been mind blowing. But as someone who’s living in the wake of this album and era. I’m not convinced.

TazFirst Pet Boys album I listened to entirely. OK experience, was honestly expecting better but also shouldn't have been surprised if I informed myself more... Still good overall. Great !
